Our story
Siloam Home Care began with Helen Taye. For more than 15 years, Helen has cared for seniors, both in their own homes and at senior care centres. Her years at the centres also gave her a deep understanding of how the care industry works, from scheduling and staffing to coordinating with families and health professionals. Along the way she has learned that good care is about much more than tasks. It is about sitting down for a real conversation, listening closely, and noticing what someone needs before they have to ask.
The people Helen cares for always come first. She plans ahead so that families never have to worry about what comes next, and she treats every client with the same patience and warmth she would want for her own parents. Clients often say that a visit from Helen feels less like an appointment and more like time with a trusted friend.
We started Siloam as a family to share that kind of care with more people across Calgary. Every caregiver who joins us is held to Helen's standard: compassionate, attentive, and always putting the person in front of them first.
What our name means
Siloam was the pool in Jerusalem where a blind man was sent to wash, and came back seeing (John 9:7). For us, it stands for restoration, dignity, and care that makes a real difference.
